Volunteer Info

Volunteering is easy and MHA depends on its volunteers! As a member of MHA, you are expected to contribute a certain number of volunteer hours to help keep this team and the swim meets, that we host, run effectively. Your time obligation depends on your level of swimmer at the beginning of the year. If you are able to help or are interested in learning about any of the positions available, please do not hesitate to contact one of the parent board members. Here are just some examples of areas that you can help out in:

At Swim Meets:

  • Set up - Help with meet preparation.  Move chairs, table, tents, etc.
  • Marshall - Supervise swimmers from all teams during warm-ups. Be an extra pair of eyes for the lifeguard.
  • Timer - Use stopwatch and record times.
  • Runner - Collect timing sheets and deliver them appropriate individuals.
  • Post - Post results
  • Heat Sheet Sales - Sell heat sheets at the beginning of the meet.
  • Bull Pen - Line up younger swimmers and lead them to the correct starting blocks.
  • Head Timer - Start extra watches in case one of timers did not get a good start.
  • Hospitality - Help with food preparation for coaches and/or officials.  Deliver water/snacks to timers.

The following positions do require some training but are always in high demand and a great way to really be a part of your child’s team.
